A pair of wire tailed swallows ( Hirundo smithii) .The long wire like streamers on the outer tail feathers gives the name and are obvious in the male while much shorter, sometimes almost absent in the female (as in this case). A difficult bird to catch on a natural perch. The undersides and inaccessible parts of bridges are favored nesting sites. Nest are constructed with mud and often the same site is reused.
