    Shot this image at lotus pond..in fact, it is the same location and bird that Supreet Sahoo posted.
    His post reminded me that I had images of this bird..thanks
    f7.1, 1/500sec, ISO 640, EV +0.3, 400mm, cropped.
    canon 60D, canon 100-400 L IS USM
    Should have used a lower ISO, but excitement got the better of me..

    Very nice. Well composed and nice pose.The flower adds to the image. wish the tail wasnot cutting across the base of the flower.there seem to be some smudges??? in the bg. Over all very neatly done.

    Nicely exposed. Good portrayal of the habitat. Agree about the tail and the stalk. I see some smudges too, on almost 2/3rds of the BG... any editing done there?

    I agree with Roopak and Abhishek. Good that you got the bird parallel to the frame. Keep trying to get environmental images. If the habitat has some junk floating around, so be it. That will tell a story.

    The pose and the eye contact is nice. Agree with Sabyasachi, it is not always possible to get a clean background, but we can try to make the composition as pleasing as possible with the elements present. Thanks for sharing.
