Nice image, eye contact is nice.Hope the light was good.
Thanks for sharing.
Nice alert look. The display of habitat is good. You could have used a narrower aperture. Where was the AF point? Thanks for sharing.

Nice photograph. This is the common stance of the Jackal (Canis aureus(Linnaeus))when approached by man.I have seen them hunting crabs in the paddy fields during rains, eating ripe mangoes in the forest in summer and heard about predating on fawns of blackbuck in Kanha meadow(1975).There is record of one sub-species (Canis aureus indicus) in the Himalayas, rarely seen. Thanks for sharing.SaktiWild
Lovely image Bhargava, heard that the density of Jackals at Pench is quite high

Nice eye contact. Looks good in its habitat.....they have adapted well to human habitations and sometimes found scavenging in garbage dumps inside big towns.

Sabyasachi,
Yes. This was at ISO 400. Do you intend to say that a higer ISO may have been better? This one's cropped by about 20-25%. Just normal processing other than a round of despeckling on the background.
Cheers
Bhargava
