    Default Amur Falcon | Close-up

I generally do not take tight portraits or 'mugshots', but this time I could not resist the temptation. This bird was getting mobbed by crows, so we made our presence felt until it was too dark for the crows to be active. After this, the falcon went off into dense vegetation, and it did not seem seriously injured.

Amur Falcon Falco amurensis | Devbag Beach, Karwar; Dec 2016.

    Thanks, comments & critiques welcome.

Nice to see a close up of a Amur Falcon. Were you find any more of them?

Sabyasachi - I do not do much mainland birdwatching these days (especially not in typical falcon habitat), but other birders found at least 12 more Amur falcons in Karwar.
