Wonders of nature
ID: Polyrhachis rastellata(a type of ant)
Stumbled upon this beautiful specimen, that seemed to be traversing the lengths of the bamboo growth, though at a lethargic speed, allowing us to frame the exquisitely glossly body, the colour and the gloss almost reminded me of the jamun(Java plum). I guess this is the first time I had encountered such a unique life form of the insectdom
Location: Nagla
EXIF:

Canon 100mm macro

SHutterspeed 1/200

Nice to see this species up-close. Agree the dark purple colour resembles to a jamun fruit. There seems to a reflection of another ant (passing by) on its body. Nice capture. Thanks for sharing.

Lovely metallic finish :-) The macro world is colorful. You will never find a dull moment. Thanks for sharing.

Interestingly the location of the flash(and camera's lens) with its leg's reflection made it look like a second ant in the frame
