This was in Pench national park again. This jackal came into sight and walked around for a while finally sitting down and then slowly and methodically scanned the entire scene. A good specimen. Could not make out whether its male or female. Also they are usually always in pairs...this 1 was alone

Nice alert pose. Some more space at the bottom would be good. Also more space on the right (in the direction the subject is looking) would enhance the composition further. There seems to be some noise in the background. Is this a crop? Thanks for sharing.

Hi,

No this is not a crop...the ISO was 400...I think the noise is bcos it was taken at 280mm..the VR lens 70-300 tends to get noisy at the extreme range. Agree with you on the space.

Kaustuv,
Why the -1/3 EC?

I agree with Mrudul that more space in the direction the animal is looking and more space at the bottom to show the complete body parts would have strengthened the image. Did you pull up the exposure during post processing?

Cheers,
Sabyasachi
