Clicked this at Tamhini near Pune yesterday .
This one is a very fast flyer and quite difficult to photograph . But we had help from some very unexpected quarters. The butterfly was attracted to some dog poo lying around and this made it calm and relaxed !

Nice to see this species. Its quite surprising to see that it got relaxed because of the poo, we normally know that butterflies are only attracted by flowers. Thanks for sharing.

Besides flowers, butterflies feed on a variety of stuff , much of it quite disgusting from a human point of view.
Animal dung , Bird droppings, rotting fruits , dead fish and crabs , tree sap...
