Looks like a big one. This one came into your house? I think I had seen a similar spider posted by Abhishek. I think he can help with the id. Thanks for sharing.

Hello Atul,
Try Poecilotheria regalis (Indian Ornamental, King Parachute Spider, Regal Parachute Spider) (http://www.iucnredlist.org/apps/redlist/details/63566/0)
AND
www.pticjipajki.com - gallery (http://www.pticjipajki.com/galerija_en.php?izbor=3)
All probability a variety of Parachute spider.

Thanks for the comments and identification. Mrudul it came to my house in Goa. It was around 5.5 inches.

Atul,
I think Chandrasekaran is right, it does look like Poecilotheria. Cant confirm the species though. These are venomous spiders, and I believe it is unusual to find one in a house. Please excercise caution when you encounter these.

Surprised to see this species inside a house. Good find. In childhood days used to see many species of spiders as dad was doing his research.
Cheers,
