Just back from a very fruitful trip to Valparai. We spotted some Tahrs on the way and stopped to photograph. This chap was sitting on a cliff edge. I had climbed a bit and was standing behind a tree when it gave me this beautiful stare.

Wow! Lovely image Bibhav, the eye contact and details are good. Is there a tilt in the image? Is it the same place near Munnar where Sankar posted images of Tahr earlier.

Congratulations on your first Tahr image.

Nice amount of details in the image. Why this slant? There is some blurred area near its back, inconsistent with the overall image. Was that a road? A vertical would have been better. I am sure you would have got many more images. Look forward to more.

Cheers,
Sabyasachi

Good one Bibhav , I was looking forward to this post :)

The slant is due to the terrain the kid was on and the best angle it offered.

This was shot at Pollachi.

AS Nikhil has mentioned, the tilt is due to the slant on which the Tahr was. The blurred area near its back is the rock surface.
Praveen, this image is from the Annaimalai reserve forest near Valparai.

Nice image of the Tahr Bibhav.....Welcome to Indiawilds to the cousins of Tahrs from Eravikulam NP.

Praveen from Valparai to Munnar the shortest route is.....

Valparai-Pollachi-Udumalaipet-Chinnar-Munnar

A total distance of about 200kms.But the Tahrs may have still shorter routes to reach Munnar!
