Mudumalai Neutrino Observatory

The last time I was in India (Feb/March/Apr 2009), the news of construction of the above observatory was announced. It seemed that a disaster was likely to be unleashed at Mudumalai.
Does anyone know what is happening with this?

Mudumalai is now safe. The proposal was withdrawn.
