From the same series. A resident in my house in Cuttack... I couldn't manage a flatter angle.

Any idea why this is called a Black Kite when it is actually brown??? :confused:

Nice shot, lovely eye contact and sharpness.
This kite was formerly called the "pariah kite". However, "pariah" literally means "untouchable", so the name was changed to black kite. Why 'black' I have no idea, maybe it is in comparison to other races (like the very similar red kite) found elsewhere in the world.

The eye contact is nice. You could have cropped a bit from the left to exclude the tree. Thanks for sharing.

The tree on the left doesn't appear at the bottom of the frame. So it doesn't help in terms of framing. It could have been excluded from the composition.
