Shot this recently at Machinbelle dam ~35 kms from Bangalore. This bird behaved so well that it was least bothered by my presence finally gave me the close up I was after. Later I managed to take few pictures of the female as well.

Beautiful bird. Would have liked more space around the image. Also a higher DOF would have helped.

Nice closeup. I like the eye contact. Some more space at the bottom would have been good as the leaves have been cutoff. Else, fine image.

Lovely image. Liked the composition and the perch. Nice eye contact. Sharp. I too have a few experiences with these,when they became quite friendly and gave me some good closeups :).
