We were trekking to Tungnath when we spotted this little pika. They are quite fearless, I spotted them in Chopta also and even there they weren't scared of coming near humans. This frisky pika was busy enjoying the morning sun and looking for food.

Nice sighting in its habitat. Good details and eye contact. This species (Ochotona roylei) does not burrow, lives in rocky talus. Thanks for sharing.SaktiWild

Nice to see this. I had filmed these little fellows in Tunganath. They normally appear at elevations of 2400 meters to 4300 meters.

This image shows its habitat well. Thanks for sharing.

Cheers,

Nice eye contact. The rocks surrounding it add to the composition. Did you climb up to the top of Tunganath? Any sightings of Monal or Himalayan Tahrs? Look forward to see more. Thanks for sharing.

Mrudul: Yes we went up all the way to the top. We did see a Monal which was trying to protect its young ones from a crow. The crows there are actually ravens, huge and strong. Didnt go close as we didnt want to spoil nature's drama. Eventually the crow went away. Don't have good shots as it was slightly far for a clear shot. Also, saw Tahrs in the nearby mountains. Again it was far but have a couple of record shots which I will post.
