The image is not sharp. If you have any difficulty, then just check the highlight on the eye and you will know that the image is not sharp.

Since you haven't mentioned in your post about the amount of crop, I can only guess that this is a large crop. Just remember that when you crop your images, the imperfections in your image also get magnified. That is why we all strive to go as close to the subject as possible. Also, when the distance between the lens and the subject increases there can also be softness induced due to haze.

As far as composition is concerned, it is important to get the body parts intact in an image. If a body part is cut off from the composition, then it needs to be well thought out.
Sharing details like shutter speed, aperture, ISO, amount of crop will help in critiquing better.

thnx or the reviews...ya the image is medium level cropped...i took the shot from a jeep at the bird perching at a moderately distant tree...400 iso/f8, aperture priority...
