Captured this during the last visit to Sewri. This is a huge crop so quite a lot of details has been lost, but keeping the distance at which it happened and the small zoom lens, I loved the result.

I remember when I used to get so excited just watching the grey herons and purple herons. There are places where you can get full frame images of these birds with smaller lenses.

When I had a smaller lens, I used to make all effort to crawl and be closer to the birds. Later on I realised that by not creating environmental compositions we are losing out on a big part of the story. I am yet to see some good wide angle environmental compositions from sewri.
