Bera is an unique (if a bit controversial) ecosystem where leopards cohabit and are thriving in the midst of farmland and human settlements. Yet they are completely wild. This pic was shot off the main hill - Liloda, home to the leopardess Zara who Thakur devi Singh has been studying for many years now. In this pic is Charger her almost adult cub, who still stays around her and one of her latest cubs. The small cub's tentative stance and Charger's bold stare made it a special image for me.

Shot with the Nikon D90, Nikkor 70-300mm, 270mm, ISO 400, 1/60s - F/7.1. Shot with a bean bag.

Lovely pose. Nice that you also got the cub in the frame. The shutter speed was quite less. Increasing the ISO would have helped. How long was the sighting? Thanks for sharing.

Took a chance with the low shutter speed as they were stationary and the light was low. The sighting was for close to 20 mns...

Nice compositon. Lovely cute cub climbing rock. The combination is unique. I imagine that except for Wilpattu N.P, nowhere in SE Asia, we can watch leopard in broad daylight as in Bera. Thanks for sharing.SaktiWild

Wow, awesome picture. The cub makes it even more special. Maybe a lower apreture along with a higher ISO may have provided a higher shutter speed. Thanks for sharing.

Nice one. It would have been a pleasure to watch the leopard and the small cub. There are no other predators. Baiting the leopards and ensuring that they are not poached helps give the leopards the confidence to appear in daylight.
