However do we really see the difference in the level of protection, improvement in management etc once the area attains CTH status ? Many former national parks are now tiger reserves. More funds are pumped in for sure, but there is no tangible improvement in overall upkeep of the reserve.

Clear measurable guidelines should be prescribed and there needs to be a periodic audit mechanism by the NTCA for all critical tiger habitats. Holding meetings at the national capital alone will not be of any help.
